Gina Coleman

Gina Coleman started her professional music career in Pittsfield, MA in 1992 with the indie pop duo The Siblings. By 1994 she fronted the acoustic folk/funk band Cole-Connection. In the summer of 1999 Gina Coleman was performing in the Williamstown Theatre Festival production of A Raisin In The Sun. That production featured the acting of Ruben Santiago Hudson, Viola Davis, Kimberly Elise and Gloria Foster. Coleman was cast as a gospel singer. Nearing the end of the show’s run, Ruben Santiago Hudson gave Gina a cd collection entitled Men Are Like Streetcars. He told her that her voice was well-suited for the blues and urged her to take that musical direction. Coleman heeded his advice and immediately formed Misty Blues with members from Cole-Connection. After 25 years, Gina still fronts and is the primary songwriter for Misty Blues. More recently Gina has also embarked on her solo career.
